Your satistfaction with our products is very important to us.  We try our hardest to make sure that our software is bug-free, our designs are free of defects, and our books have all their i's dotted and t's crossed.  But, we know that things sometimes go wrong and you may not be 100% happy with a product or how it got delivered.  Or, maybe it never even got delivered!  We hope that the information on this page will answer whatever questions you have about what to do when things go wrong, but if you're still not sure what to do after looking here, just contact us and we'll get things sorted out as quickly as possible.

What's field15 and what's its relationship to Caretcake?
field15, Inc., is a Brooklyn-based digital design and development shop.  After many, many years of doing business-to-business, client-driven work, field15's owners decided that it was time to take the company in a new consumer-oriented direction.  Caretcake.com is the digital storefront of that new direction.  The products on this website (unless otherwise noted) and the Caretcake.com name are both wholly owned and operated by field15 — Caretcake is just the website's name.     

Where am I actually purchasing this stuff from? Why am I sent somewhere else to checkout?
The answer to the first question actually depends on what you purchased.  Even though the ideas, designs, and code belong to us, we use a number of third-party vendors along the way.  Each product page on this website indicates the name of the vendor who will be completing the purchase with you.  Caretcake (or even field15 for that matter) doesn't actually complete any of the transactions itself — all sales are completed by other vendors. And, that's why you're re-directed to another website when you click the "buy" buttons on this site.

Can I make a wholesale purchase of your products?
Yes, you can.  The exact pricing, order fulfillment, speed of delivery, and other details depend on the product or products you're interested in, though.  To find out more, please just contact us and let us know what you're interested in purchasing. 

Is your stuff online only or can I find it in retail shops as well?
Right now, our products are only available online.  But, we hope to change that in the near future.  If you own a retail store and would like to talk to us about getting our products in your store, we'd love to hear from you

I'm a web designer/developer, and I've just gotta ask...what's your site running on?
Caretcake.com was built on DandyCMS — a full-featured content management system running on top of the Python-based Django framework.  DandyCMS was written by field15, Inc., for rapid development and easy management of catalog and directory style websites but can also be used for blogs and brochure style websites as well.  DandyCMS may be available to the general public at some point in the future.

Where's My Stuff?

If you're asking this question then we're going to guess that you're either really, really excited about getting your purchase or something's gone wrong with the delivery.  We hope it's the former, but in case it's the latter, here's what we can tell you.  

Start with the confirmation email.  If your purchase was for a digital download (i.e. software, music, an e-book, etc.), then you should have received a link indicating where you can download your purchase from.  Sometimes the link is sent by email and sometimes certain email providers mark these messages as spam.  Please check your spam folder, if you have one, to make sure the email wasn't blocked.  Whether your purchase was for a digital download or not, you should have received a confirmation email after you made your purchase.  If you didn't receive the confirmation message yet, please check your spam folder for that, too.  The confirmation email is a great place to start because it will have information like date of purchase and purchase order number.  In some cases, it may even say the expected delivery date.

Unfortunately, because order fulfillment of all our products happens by third-party vendors, we don't have access to information like where exactly your stuff is right now.  If you're having problems confirming your purchase at all, you can contact us with your name, product(s) purchased, and date of purchase, and we can tell you whether we received confirmation of your order.  From there, you'll have to contact the vendor who actually completed the order.  If you're not sure who that was, simply go back to the product page on this website and look under the "buy" button for the name of the vendor who completes the order for that particular product.

Return Policy

We're sorry to hear that you're not happy with your purchase!  All of the third-party vendors we work with have great return policies, though.  Because we don't complete the orders ourselves, you'll have to go through our vendors to return your purchase.  If you're not sure who you actually purchased the product from, simply go back to the product's page on this website and look under the "buy" button for the name of the vendor who completed order fulfillment for that particular product.  If you have the time, we'd love it if you'd tell us why you're returning your purchase. We want to make sure that we've partnered with the best third-party vendors for our products, so if there's a problem with one of them, we'd really like to know.

Software Support

If our software isn't working like you'd expect, or worse yet, not working at all, we want to know about it.  We hope that by clearly labeling system requirements on our website and by offering free trial versions of all our software, we can avoid problems before they happen, but we also know that things can and do go wrong with any technology.  If one of our pieces of software is particularly complicated or if we've received an unusually high number of support requests for it, then there will be a link on that product's page to a support page dedicated solely to that piece of software.  For all other software support questions, please just use our general contact form and be sure to include the name of the software you're writing about along with the operating system you're using the software on (i.e. Windows 7, Mac OS X, Linux, etc.).  Please be sure to describe your question or problem in as much detail as you can, and, if you still have it, please include the order ID you received at the time of purchase.  If you also include your email address, we'll get back to you as soon as we possibly can.
